I have been trying to come up with a RIA POC for mobile devices. However the main constraint has been to zero in on the right RIA technology.
I found a good blog on the same topic in jajahdevblog.com. I would recomend this blog highly.

RIA on mobile devices is not too far.. iPhone and iPod touch has been a great thrust (you should ask for that t be provided to you for playing).
In coming months many devices with full capability browsers along-with larger screen size would become available taking away most of the constraint.
The change is in the interaction model, for instance - what is mouse over equivalent? a tap on the screen? similarly approach to data entry will change.. and so on.
Cheers
AJ
Ture - many are going towards enabling web experience on the handsets. infact many less known brands - mainly korean brands are already out with PDA phones and TV enabled phones in the market. These cost like a fraction of the top brand models.
However they all look at web on a PDA i am looking at apps on PDA which connect to the web only for the data. Such apps are already there as Java applications.
My focus is on Flex based apps.
